New Hampshire’s up-and-coming heavy metal act In Shallows are back with their first single from 2024, “World Fire.”
Furthermore, ‘World Fire’ serves as the direct follow-up to their viral hit ‘Venom,’ which gained massive popularity on TikTok last summer, amassing over half a million plays on Spotify. With this new single, the band once again achieves a delicate balance between ferocious intensity and infectious accessibility, drawing comparisons to the top acts in the modern metalcore genre.
Honing their distinctive instrumental prowess, the band explore deeper themes in their lyrics, offering a bold vision of the environment around them. Says the band:
“We thought this song was necessary in light of recent events around the world. We didn’t just take our words and put them in a song; we were sick of watching the news everyday with the same droning nonsense. It got to the point that we realized the world was engulfed with negativity. ‘World Fire’ metaphorically reflects our views of humanity failing and creating our own destruction.”
With almost a year between their last single and this one, it is evident that In Shallows meticulously approach each release with intention and purpose.
