New York hardcore favorites Incendiary announced their new album, Change The Way You Think About Pain, set to release on May 26 via Closed Casket Activities. Along with the album announcement, the band revealed the hard-hitting single titled “Bite The Hook.”
With the new album, Incendiary confront the hyper-polarization of American society, those who confuse selfishness with freedom, and the lengths we’ll go to in order to avoid pain and maintain comfort. Instead of opting to make a huge pivot in their sound, Incendiary’s focus with the new record was to refine the sound that they’ve been working towards. Specifically, being more aggressive and abrasive in terms of songs and production.
Change The Way You Think About Pain is the band’s first release since 2017’s Thousand Mile Stare and was engineered, mixed, and mastered by Will Putney of Graphic Nature Audio (Knocked Loose, Every Time I Die, Vein.fm).
Frontman Brendan Garrone says: “Much of the content of the record deals with the idea of pain, specifically pain avoidance. ‘Bite the Hook’ is about the struggles one faces when letting something fester and go unresolved. The song’s aggression and vibe sets the tone for the rest of the record.”
