Jakob Nowell, son of legendary Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, has been very busy lately. He recently performed with a reunited Sublime for a benefit show, and it was recently announced that he would again perform with Sublime for Coachella 2024. In addition to that, his Jakobs Castle project kicked off a tour yesterday that goes through March.
Yesterday, Jakobs Castle also announced the release of the project’s upcoming album Enter: The Castle, due out on Epitaph Records on April 12. Regarding the upcoming album, Nowell says that it’s a more modern take on punk rock. “I see the spirit of punk to be alive in what people today call hyper pop or bedroom pop, even if it’s not always aggressive,” he explains.
Alongside the album announcement, the project also released the latest single called “Catch Me,” which he has described as his favorite song he’s ever written. “The way it rises and falls just hits the sweet spot in my brain,” says Nowell.
