Indie pop artist, Jawny, has gone from a bedroom pop icon when he started his career in his early 20s to signing with Interscope records in 2020. “It’s Never Fair, Always True,” released on March 3, is Jawny’s most recent album, following 2021’s “The Story of Hugo” EP. The album is Jawny’s debut album despite several single and EP releases in the past years.
Brimming with youthfulness as well as depictions of the stark reality of adult life and relationships, “It’s Never Fair, Always True” gives a glimpse into the psyche behind the project. Alongside the album, Jawny has just released a 20 minute live-action short film that features all the music videos from the debut album, including the newly released “lalala” video.
“It’s Never Fair, Always True…The Film” is directed by a longtime collaborator of Jawny’s, Spencer Ford, and spans a full 20 minutes. The film is action packed and unexpected, making it an entertaining and effective accompaniment to the album.
