News: Jesse James Dupree Finishes Off Revitalized Run

Jesse James Dupree is wrapping up a significant chapter in his career with the final couple shows of his tour. The lead singer of the Southern rock band Jackyl recently released a solo album titled Breathing Fire, his first in 24 years.

The Jackyl frontman’s solo comeback was inspired, in part, by a night of listening to AC/DC.

“I was in an AC/DC frame of mind, so I pulled out the High Voltage album, and I listened to it from front to back twice,” he said to Loudwire. “Then I went to Highway to Hell and then I listened to Back in Black.

What resulted was his electric song titled “Never Gets Old” with none other than Brian Johnson of AC/DC. The track continued to gain airplay more than 22 weeks after its released and highlighted Dupree’s phenomenal album, Breathing Fire.

The collection of songs dropped in November. Dupree supported the album with a tour stretching from Florida to Michigan. It wraps up in just a few days.

“If you are ready for a slab of rock ‘n’ roll, please check it out,” Dupree said about the album on social media when it was released.

He’s spot on. Breathing Fire is perfect, old-school rock and scratches the itch for anyone craving an AC/DC-like, throwback sound. The love for the music pours out from Dupree in this one.
