King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard have unveiled the details of their upcoming new album Alien Metal. The album will be released this summer through P(doom) Records. Along with the details, the band have also released the lead single, “Level 5,” and an accompanying video directed by Hayden Somerville.

Vocalist/guitarist Stu Mackenzie shares his thoughts:
“It completely rewired my brain. I was like, ‘I’m going to forget everything I know about music and relearn it all from scratch’.”
He adds:
“We’ve never scrapped so much material as we have for this album. Entire albums, entire universes that were formulated, created, recorded, deleted and started again.”
Guitarist/vocalist Joey Walker adds:
“Alien Metal goes really hard, but it also goes to really interesting places. And it feels unique – it feels like us, still.”
