News: L.A. Drugz Drop ‘Outside Place’ EP Reissue

LA Drugz

Supergroup L.A. Drugz have released a 10th-anniversary reissue of their 2013 power-pop classic EP, Outside Place, along with a humorous homage to ‘80s punk movie ‘Repo Man’ in the video for the title track.

The band—featuring Justin Maurer from Clorox Girls/Suspect Parts, James Carman of Maniac/Telephone Lovers/The Reflectors/Images, Cezar Mora from Bad Machine, and Johnny “JD” Reyes, formerly of Images/Bad Machine—formed the punk/power-pop group after the dissolution of Clorox Girls in 2010, and released their debut EP, Outside Place, in 2013 via Hovercraft Records.

The EP’s sound blends classic power pop with melodic ’70s punk, drawing influences from a diverse range of bands such as The Nerves, Buzzcocks, The Kids, and more, showcasing Maurer’s talent for crafting memorable pop songs.

Their music video for “Outside Place” recreates iconic scenes from ‘Repo Man’ and features cameos from members of Images, The Reflectors, Maniac, Suspect Parts, Cute Lepers, and Clorox Girls. It was directed by Brett Roberts, with Ardavon Fatehi as director of photography, and FX by Noel Taylor.
