Californian ska sextet Mad Caddies have released a new single, “Waiting for the Real Thing”, ahead of their newly announced EP, House on Fire, out October 16 via Fat Wreck Chords.

Doo-wop infused “Waiting for the Real Thing” is the second single from the EP, following on from the chilled out reggae vibes of “Let it Go”, with both tracks hinting that the EP will have a big, brassy fell similar to 2014’s Dirty Rice.

Talking about the single, vocalist Chuck Robertson says: ”We wanted to do sort of a throwback tune, something that called on 50s rock sensibility, while still incorporating Caddies elements. It’s a fun one! Harmonies, horns, heartbreak…hooray!”
