Swedish black metal band Marduk have released a video for the track “Shovel Beats Sceptre” from forthcoming record Memento Mori. The new album is due to be released September 1.
Marduk frontman Daniel Rostén states:
“’Memento Mori’ is, all at once, a bold leap forward, a calculated sidestep, and a wistful backward glance. Meaning, we have broken new ground without forgetting our legacy or the journey that brought us to this point.”
Marduk formed in Norrköping in 1990. Two years later they released their debut record, Dark Endless, on No Fashion Records. Their intention was to be the most blasphemous band in the world. With a career spanning over three decades, Marduk have more than accomplished that goal.
