Some of the inspiration for “Celebrate with Port!” came from the time that The Comet Tavern in Seattle had rock shows and how people would take shots of port like it was whiskey. The other part of inspiration came from an early mega cat tradition involving “a port night every fortnight” with dear friends as a way to break up the monotony of the lockdown.

They are a three-piece band featuring Aaron Benson (drums, percussion, guitar), Kim West (piano and synths), and Ryan Devlin (bass and guitar). During live performances, mega cat bring on two honorary members: Dave Dederer on guitar and Jacob Whinihan on percussion. Despite not using traditional methods of communication, they to use traditional language to communicate, they transmit instrumental narratives with familiar feels to fans of 20th century science fiction, afro-beat, hip-hop and psychedelic music.
