Raw to it’s core, Mercy Music’s latest single “Found Out I’m Useless” packs a musical punch and talks on being gaslit and failing to accept it. The single is off of the band’s upcoming album What You Stand To Lose, out June 30 via Double Helix Records/SBÄM Records.

On the song’s lyrics, lead singer and guitarist Brendan Scholz says, “The truth is right in front of you, but you constantly refuse to accept it,” speaking on the idea of being in a tumultuous relationship but failing to see it in that light.

On the sound of the single, and the upcoming album it is off of, bassist Jarred Cooper added, “(The song is) a little bit of a departure, but I think it fits well on the record. It really gives me ’90s slacker vibes.”

In addition to the release of the single, the band have also put out a video to accompany it.

In support of the release of their fourth full-length album, the band will be touring the west coast in support of Versus the World alongside Loves Equals Death, kicking things off on June 16 at Long Beach’s Supply and Demand.
