Pop-punk band Middle-Out releases its breakneck, self-titled LP just in time for the start of summer. There’s no let up on this album, a perfect compilation of tunes to be put out under the Punkerton Records label.
“Our self-titled record is a testament to all the shit that has happened in our lives over the last couple of years. The good, the bad and everything in between,” the band say
The album sounds pristine, put together with a massive sound. It’s incredible work from Bricktop Recording and Buzzbomb studios, who worked in tandem to help put the album together.
A standout tune is “401k”.
“The song is certainly about the changes that we all experience in life as it relates to growing up, and friends going their separate ways over time,” the band says. “We’ve all been through it and will continue to as time goes on, but the memories will always be there.”
The album is laced with hits, including “Silhouette” and “Rocks”.
“’Silhouette’ sings a tale not of admitting defeat, but wallowing in it- swearing that you’re done with it all but knowing deep down that you can’t let it go,” the band describe of the song.
“’Rocks” details the wear-and-tear of setting yourself aside to support the people for whom you care most, even when you’re too unstable to stand on your own.”
The band recently toured with Punkerton Records label mates Knives and Bad Year. The tour stretched from Illinois to Las Vegas, packing outstanding venues. Much of the new LP was featured in Middle-Out’s setlist.
Punkerton Records promotes authentic and innovative music in the spaces of punk, folk and alt country. It’s based in Columbus, Ohio.
