Pop-punk/hardcore act Militarie Gun announced their debut album today. The new album is entitled Life Under the Gun, and it’s due out on June 23 from Loma Vista Recordings.
With the announcement of the new album comes the release of the new single “Very High,” which is technically the second single of the album following the song “Do It Faster,” which was released before the album’s announcement.
Regarding “Very High,” frontman Ian Shelton had this to say about the song: “‘Very High’ centers around the desire to escape the embarrassment of day to day life as much as possible. From the lyrics to the video to the cover art of the album, it’s about struggling with something no one else sees, ‘I’ve been feeling very down, so I get very high.’” The video that dropped with the single is directed by Mason Mercer.
In addition, the band announced a pair of headlining shows in the U.S. amidst their slew of European tour dates. The two headlining dates are in San Pedro and Joshua Tree in California. More tour info and tickets can be found on the band’s website.
