Pacific Northwest black-doom artist Mizmor is gearing up to release new album Prosaic via Profound Lore Records July 21.
Mizmor mastermind and multi-instrumentalist, A.L.N. states:
“I tried to streamline my process, to keep things interesting, engaging, and fun for me out of self-love. Often when I make records, it becomes a slog, and I find myself in a proverbial hole where I’ve lost perspective. I simply wanted to see if I could make a record I was proud of without going to that place.”
“The idea behind the album was to make an intentionally less conceptual, more slice-of-life record. I wanted to make an album that was less precious and obsessed-over, more honest and real; less grandiose and more human.”
Prosaic was recorded and produced in the summer and fall of 2022 by A.L.N. at Albilith Studio in Portland, OR. It was mixed by Sonny Diperri at Octopus Beak in Los Angeles, CA. and mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering in Portland, OR.
