Czech music project Nemuer have released an animated music video for their new track “Sun God Ra’s Solar Barque” from their ancient Egyptian album Going Forth by Day. The video offers an earlier preview from the upcoming art-music film which is about the Book of the Dead. To make the film, Nemuer has collaborated with painter Klára Sedlo and leading Egyptologists.

Like the rest of the album Going Forth by Day, the lyrics here are in ancient Egyptian, featuring reconstructed pronunciation. Through the collaboration with Egyptologist Dr. de Vartavan, this was made possible. The music video features English captions so that people can comprehend the texts from The Book of the Dead. It continues from “Gates of Duat,” the first segment of the film which was released last year.
Nemuer are led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Zann, who has dedicated years to the study of ancient Egyptian literature and mythology.
