News: Neon Nightmare Drops Video ‘They Look Like Shadows’

Neon Nightmare

Neon Nightmare have released a video for the track “They Look Like Shadows” which may reveal the mastermind behind this elusive project. Before we deep-dive the identity of this super mysterious figure, the video itself is ultra cool regardless of who’s behind it. Major props to 20 Buck Spin and Neon Nightmare for “whatever” or “whomever” this turns out to be, it’s been a fun ride so far.

Directed by Emmanuella Zachariou, the video centers around three sexy, rocker vampires tearing through the big bad city finding likely and unlikely victims to satisfy their sanguine bloodlust. Here’s the fun part. It’s chock full of Type O easter eggs and related imagery to the point to where you have to watch and re-watch this clip multiple times to spot it all, and you won’t, I’ve tried!

At about the 2:55 mark we spot a familiar face at the bar and it looks like the one and only Nate Garrett formerly of Gatecreeper and now Spirit Adrift. If you do your due diligence you’ll discover that Spirit Adrift worked with producer Jeff Henson who oddly enough also produced the Neon Nightmare album, Faded Dream, due out November 1 via 20 Buck Spin. Lastly, Spirit Adrift covered  the Type O Negative track “Everything Dies” on their 20 Centuries Gone record as well. Coincidence? Hmmm. It’s all conjecture and hasn’t been confirmed yet, but if it looks like a Neon Nightmare and sounds like a Neon Nightmare it might just be … Mr. Nate Garrett, again, unconfirmed.

Don’t look for the band touring any time soon. When asked on their Facebook page about the prospect of playing live in 2025, Neon Nightmare responded to a fan with this comment:

“Find us a keyboard player who looks like this and we’ll think about it.”
