Goth Rock patriarch Nick Cave delighted our senses this Halloween with the release of Nick Cave and The Bad Seed’s 17th album, Ghosteen the two-part record that dropped on October 3. If you wished for more, fear not, your Halloween wishes have come true.
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds have released Ghosteen (Ghosteen Ltd.) on a double LP, double CD, and it is available to stream everywhere. Ghosteen initially premiered on YouTube with a video that featured hints and words that made allusions to each song. Cave called this record a migrating spirit, and the first half of the songs were children, the second set their parents. With that in mind, we can look at this record with the idea that it is poetic lineage.
Following the release, record shops hosted listening parties where fans could commune and enjoy the experience of the new record together. The fans were a part of this release from the beginning with Nick coming clean about the new record in direct response to a fan’s question.
Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds announced a 33-date European and U.K. Tour for 2020.
