Night Sins just released a new 5-track album, A Silver Blade in the Shadow, last Friday 5/17. Front man Kyle Kimball composed the album and produced it through Born Losers Records. This new project shows listeners a vulnerable side to Kimball through his lyrics, painting him as a tortured soul doing his best to push past the dreadful monotony of day to day life. Based out of the Mid-Atlantic, the soothing tone present in each song will have you floating out to sea, riding the wave that is Kimballs rich resounding vocals. A Silver Blade in the Shadow gives a voice to the experience of pain and suffering, all the while expressing it in a very romantic manner.
Upon first listen, Night Sins sound like they originated straight out of the 80’s alongside other legends such as Sisters of Mercy or New Order. However, the group that is the brainchild of Kimball is a twenty-first century coalescence of synth-pop and new age darkwave. For fans of what is quickly becoming an outdated genre, bands like Night Sins revitalize the beloved niche, delivering something new to get us excited about but with nostalgic undertones.
A Silver Blade in the Shadow is available for vinyl purchase which comes with a digital version of the album.
