Sad news for NOFX fans—the band will soon be announcing their final shows, according to frontman Fat Mike.
Fatty ‘broke’ the news in an Instagram comment, when asked (rather rudely) if the band would ever return to Canada.
He said:
“Actually, We love Canada, it’s just that next year will be our last year. We will be announcing our final shows soon. It’s been an amazing run….”
Adding as a reply to a fan asking if they’d grace Los Angeles with their presence one last time, Fat Mike replied:
“Los Angeles will be the last place we play. It’s where we started, it’s where we’ll end.”
Considering the band are gearing up for quite a few shows as part of their touring Punk In Drublic festival—They’re playing in Canada this weekend, and will hit Asbury Park, NY in October—plus a trip to Australia in December, this announcement feels like a pretty big shock.
But, 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of NOFX, which feels like a poignant end to a band that has forever been anything but.
