Goth metal unit October Noir have released a horror movie inspired video for the track “A Halo Hung From Horns.” Drawing influences from such films as Evil Dead and The Exorcist,’ the video combines both horror elements as well as a sense of humor.

The song’s lyrical content explores the often two faced nature of humankind as both angel and savior to their partner, only to discover their true darker nature latching themselves onto their lover draining them, using them, and leaving them when their next victim arises. If you listen closely, the song features samples from readings of Dante’s Inferno.

For those not familiar with October Noir, the band have released nine singles and three full-length albums since their formation in 2017 by Tom Noir. Their influences range from synth-based, ’80’s rock to bands like Echo And The Bunnymen, The Cure, My Dying Bride, and Type O Negative.

The track “For Honor” has been described by band members as “the most transparently ’80s-sounding track off the album.” Drummer Tyler Fleming describes it as the bands’ “Def Leppard song” for its heavy metal influence. In the words of keyboardist Doug Lane, it’s “gut-wrenching and torturously emotional slog in the best possible way.”

Their latest album, Letters To Existence, was released September 22 of last year.
