Speaking on the single release, guitarist Nathe Sinfield shares his thoughts:
“This was the second Outergods song that was written and, like our previous single, ‘Nothing But a Fetid Worm,’ it gets straight into the chaos. This song quickly descends into an abrasive, discordant wall of noise using a blend of FX pedals and electronics before falling apart completely. I think it helps sum up the overarching theme of the album in that respect.”
Vocalist Sam Strachan continues:
“This is probably one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written, lyrically. It’s about feeling trapped in your own mind and feeling helpless. When Nathe sent it over to me, I fell in love with it immediately. Although it was extreme, it had a hardcore element which I really gelled with. I was listening to a lot of bands like Vein.fm and Loathe at the time and told Nathe he needed to add a filthy breakdown riff to the end of the song. This is my favorite of ours to play live.”
