Black Metallers Paysage D’Hiver have dropped new single “Verinnerlichung” from forthcoming record Die Berge due out November 8. “Verinnerlichung” is the album’s second single focusing on the final journey of “the wanderer” in the realm of Paysage d’Hiver leading “the wanderer” to the top of the mountains, allowing him to transcend into the next form of being-ness.
The band comment:
“The title of our new single ‘Verinnerlichung’ means ‘internalisation,'” mastermind Wintherr reveals. “The album ‘Die Berge’ describes the wanderer’s final journey. As is allegedly often the case when faced with death, his life story plays out before the wanderer’s inner eye while he walks and he internalizes it.”
The black metal band was formed in 1997, the sole member being Wintherr. The band’s sound lies somewhere between funeral doom and harsh black metal blending with a unique interplay of dungeon synth and dronish-sound collage as well.
“Verinnerlichung” follows up the release of first single “Urgrund,” the 18-minute, 31-second opus setting the tone and scope of what would follow with “Verinnerlichung.” Parallel to Die Berge, Paysage D’Hiver will release their Schnee (‘Snow’) cycle via Kunsthall Produktionen responsible for releasing all of the band’s records. The label is run by Wintherr and his wife.
