News: Polaris Set o Release ‘Fatalism’ Album September 1

Polaris are set to drop their new album, Fatalism, September 1 via Resist Records in Australia and SharpTone Records the rest of the world. Recently, the band released a video for the track “Nightmare,” one of three videos the band filmed with late guitarist Ryan Siew earlier this year.

Drummer and lyricist Daniel Furnari states:

“For us, fatalism is the resignation to the idea that you have no control over certain things, that some things are almost pre-determined and inevitable. We want people to feel a sense of connection to something outside of themselves when they hear this album. There’s a certain peace that comes with accepting that there are some things larger than yourself and redirecting that fear.

“It has been a challenging and very emotional task to complete these videos in light of what has happened, but after careful discussion with his family, we collectively felt that we wanted to share with the world the final things that Ryan created with us. We will proudly cherish the memories of him contained in this footage, and hope you will too.

“‘Nightmare’ is a reflection on the constant state of fear that the world at large seems to have lived in for much of the past couple of years—the feeling of waking up every day into a dystopia of uncertainty and anxiety where nothing really feels safe anymore.”

Fatalism was recorded in Melbourne over a period of five months in 2022 with the band’s live sound engineer Lance Prenc. Vocal recording duties were handled by Alpha Wolf guitarist Scottie Simpson.
