Solo pop punk and alternative artist Darro releases his first song of the year titled “j.o.m.o.” He says it’s an acronym standing for “the joy of missing out.”
“It’s a celebration of being yourself instead of falling into peer pressure due to being a social outcast or having social anxiety,” Darro explains.
You can hear that sentiment in the line “walked away from all these people/ fuck the small talk and their egos/ try to change my point of view.” The catchy chorus features a bouncy guitar riff with slick production effects scattered throughout the track. The pace changes are aptly timed. And, as usual with a Darro song, the end payoff his huge.
“I like to think of it as a ‘stay at home’ anthem for those weekends that you really just want to chill inside,” he continues.
This celebration of being antisocial is a must-add to any summer playlist. Darro recently toured with Keep Your Secrets and will likely announce more shows soon. Keep a close eye on any updates and new music here.
