poptropicaslutz! have released their newest single, “True Colors”, ahead of their upcoming debut album, Face for the Radio, dropping October 13. The synth-laden single is enticingly vibrant and catchy, further showcasing the band’s fluidity of genres, as well as their masterful songwriting capabilities.
The NYC-based duo fuse together various influences on their debut – including Y2K pop, indie sleaze, pop-punk, and the Soundcloud rap era – to create a full-length debut with eleven sonically rich, textured tracks.
The duo states,
“True colors is a song about the hope for greener pastures with the one you ‘love’ or coming to terms with the truth – you’re beating a dead horse. You know deep down you’re a desirable suitor, and ‘replacing’ them would be fairly easy, but letting go of someone you’ve grown so attached to is easier said than done. Old habits die hard.”
Fans can catch poptropicaslutz! on tour with Magnolia Park (starting October 5th), as well as listen/pre-save Face for the Radio here.
