California-based post-hardcore band Death Lens, the self-described “Brown boys from LaPuente,” have announced their new album Cold World—their first on legendary punk label Epitaph Records—which will come out on May 3. “Cold World just seemed to fit in the days we’re living,” the band explains about the album title. “It’s the desire to thrive in a deteriorating world all while pushing those who feel like there is no hope and hoping to give them a second wind, a sense of hope.”
“We’re all unified in the way we think, we all believe in a fair system for all to live without strugglea nd with a reasonable cost of living,” says vocalist Bryan Torres about the band.“We side strongly with socialist ideals proudly. We’re also very pro-Latino and pushing heavier to see more Hispanic bands up onstage, pro LGBTQ, pro-immigration, and everything in between.”
Alongside the announcement, the band released the title track off the album as the first single and released an accompanying video. The bizarre music video sees Torres shot by a gun at the beginning of the video and continuing to sing throughout the video as he slowly dies. With the powerful gang vocals and haunting melodies, the song shows promise for a killer full album. Check out the video below.
Cold World is available now for pre-order from Epitaph Records. Follow Death Lens on Facebook and Instagram for future updates.
