Promise Game releases their emotive, pop-punk anthem “Connecticut” reflecting on the trials and tribulations a touring band faces while on the road. Following a year of high gas prices and significant inflation, this soaring track is an interesting look behind the curtain.
“Connecticut” is a track that represents many firsts for us. The story behind the song is based on an experience from our first tour together, and the first time we played a show in CT,” vocalist Colin VanDenBerghe says.
It’s the first Promise Game song written primarily by VanDenBerghe. It’s also the first track from the band featuring lead guitar player Mike Cochran. Long-time friend of the band, producer Dave Levine, put the song together.
Coinciding with the song, the band donated money to charities chosen by four fans who presaved the track.
Promise Game blends a contemporary pop-punk sound with prime emo vibes. Think The Wonder Years meets Jimmy Eat World.
The band recently wrapped up a quick tour with scene mate Cheer Up Dusty and has plans for more shows in 2023.
