Not to be confused with the more well-known post-punk group New Order, The New Order was a proto-punk group which featured Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton, Stooges bassist Jimmy Recca, and MC5 drummer Dennis Thompson.
The proto-punk supergroup put out a self-titled debut in 1977 (later reissued under the title Declaration of War) and then one more album over 10 years later called Victim of Circumstance before calling it quits. Now, the band’s debut album is getting a deluxe reissue on October 6 from Cleopatra Records under its original title. The deluxe version includes vintage photos, bonus material, and liner notes by Asheton himself.
You can pre-order the record from Cleopatra Records.
