Rain City Drive’s sonic journey intensifies with their new palpable track, ‘Neverbloom.’ An emotionally, heart-wrenching track that beautifully articulates the pain of losing a parent. At just 24, vocalist Matt McAndrew’s father passed away and the turmoil that continues to follow the loss. McAndrew explains, ““I wrote ‘Neverbloom’ about my dad who passed when I was 24. I find myself thinking how I wish he could see the things I’ve accomplished and the man that I’ve become. It’s about learning to live with the reality that he only got to see the beginning of my journey, the seeds I planted, but won’t see my flowers bloom.””
‘Neverbloom’ joins their two singles, ‘Frozen’ and ‘Medicate Me’ featuring Dayseeker’s Rory Rodriguez, on the tracklist for the unannounced, but highly-alluded to, upcoming record. Following the band’s 2020 debut, To Better Days and their sophomore self-titled 2022 release, the band has crafted a dark-electro-pop, melodic modern-rock sound that can both float and burst through speakers.
Rain City Drive is gearing up to accompany Dayseeker on their European and UK tour later in the year. Still, in the meantime, you can keep up with them on their socials to find out about upcoming singles and the inevitable album announcement.
