Canadian pop-punkers Real Sickies have been making the most of their time in quarantine. After a tour with The Real McKenzies was cancelled halfway through, the band went into quarantine in their hometown of Edmonton.

There, the band decided to write, record, and release an album in seven days. The final product, out this Friday, will benefit the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Response Fund.

Real Sickies have been sharing vlog updates on the quarantine and album daily on their Facebook page. The videos feature bits about the recording, the boredom, and plenty of pets.

The band’s most recent album, Out Of Space, came out in August of 2019, full of the no-frills rock the band specializes in.

The benefit album will be available on Real Sickies’ Bandcamp page Friday. Donate to the WHO’s COVID-19 Response Fund here.
