Midwest rockers Remo Drive released their latest single “New In Town” earlier this week. A baroque indie rock tune, the song talks about frontman Erik Paulson’s move from his home of Minnesota to his new home of Albany, NY.
“’New in Town’ is a song about the loneliness of moving to a new city, being the only stranger in a room full of old friends, and misconstruing bar names for human names,” Paulson explains about the genesis of the new song.“This song came to be after an especially homesick night, but really took its shape throughout the recording process. It’s our quietest song yet, and one of our most adventurous productions.”
With the new song comes the accompanying video, shot and edited by Sydney Ostrander, depicts Paulson performing the song karaoke-style in a bar full of mannequins, highlighting the loneliness of the song. Check out the video below.
