News: robbietheused From The Used Releases ‘The Feels’

The Used

The Used frontman Bert McCracken releases his newest song under his solo project, robbietheused. Called “The Feels,” the track blends McCracken’s signature vocals with electro-pop in an uplifting, soaring tune.

“The song was inspired by my on-going battle with mental health and is about learning to lean into love and and acceptance,” McCracken says.

Following his first single “Just a Little Bit” the track showcases the angst of robbietheused’s lyrics with an optimistic tone. It’s beat and lyrics are catchy. McCracken absolutely shines.

“I was inspired by all generations of pop—I love ’80’s pop, ’90’s pop, and early 2000’s pop, “ McCracken continues, talking about its inspirations. “I love today’s pop as well.”

McCracken wrote the tune with Goldfinger frontman and producer John Feldmann. In the pop-punk and emo mainstream explosion of the early 2000s, Feldmann helped pluck The Used from their homes in Utah before catapulting them to scene’s biggest stages.

McCracken and Feldmann have been close ever since.

“John Feldmann is a wizard,” McCracken continues. “He can make anything, and he’s so easy to work with. He is the hardest working man I know in the music industry.”

The tune was born from a week-long studio session between the two. The pair recorded a song each day, talking about mental health, turning each work day into a personal therapy session.

What resulted was not just a couple of songs, but a full album with a release date to be determined.
