Nineteen-eighty-six was a good year, especially for Christian Death, who released their now-legendary record Atrocities. Season of Mist will re-release Atrocities on vinyl and CD formats July 9 as part of an ongoing reissue series that includes past Christian Death albums, Catastrophe Ballet, The Root of All Evilution, Ashes, The Scriptures, American Inquisition, and Sex and Drugs and Jesus Christ.

Droppin’ science: Atrocities was recorded at Rockfield Studios Monmouth, Wales, U.K., made famous for the fact that Queen recorded “Bohemian Rhapsody” there. The Studio features several buildings in a remote farm village, one of which might be haunted, as certain members of Christian Death can attest to.
