Self Defense Family, which features Patrick Kindlon of Drug Church on vocals, announced their first live album Law of Karma Live: Fake Shit Wins But Not Tonight, which is due out on August 4 from Landland Colportage. The announcement was accompanied by the release of the first single, the album’s opening track “I’m Going Through Some Shit.”
“We’d been playing as a six-piece-sometimes-seven-piece-sometimes-more for awhile,” explains Kindlon about the live album. “It was an ambitious time. Very few of us are technically great musicians, so there was a problem-solving element to the whole thing. And we made it work, sometimes fantastically. We thought it important to document that. Otherwise, nobody would believe we pulled it off.”
Preorders of the album are available on the band’s Bandcamp with a ton of different vinyl variants. You can keep up with further updates on Self Defense Family by following them on Instagram and Twitter.
