New York noise rock/hardcore act Show Me The Body recently dropped a brand-new video for the track “Arcanum” off of their latest album Dog Whistle.
Brooklyn-based filmmaker and documentary photographer Landon Yost co-directed the video alongside the band revealing powerful, candid shots of people. There is an all-around quality, cinematic feel to the video.
Yost stated “The piece was very collaborative—the band and I fleshed out the moments and tableaus we felt were emblematic of what ‘Arcanum’ stands for. “
The video for “Arcanum” starts with a montage of footage spanning from graveyards to a taxidermy studio to a bustling street, and as the video progresses, the physical film that makes it up is slowly destroyed. Musically, the track has a steady build up that goes from a poetic vocal sung over the banjo to a grungy, thunderous eruption that concludes the song.
