Sightless Pit are a collaborative endeavor featuring Kristin Hayter (Lingua Ignota), Lee Buford (The Body), and Dylan Walker (Full of Hell). Sightless Pit released two tracks to the public from their latest album, Grave of A Dog, out now.
“The Ocean of Mercy” and “Drunk on Marrow” are both dark, brooding, and heavy tracks. The album has been described by Walker as being “about the anonymity of struggle, the darkness of a lifetime wasted warring against nature, god and everything else, only to be defeated … nothing … the end.”
“The Ocean of Mercy” embodies those ideas in the sense that it is super industrial and experimental. Hayter’s vocals on “The Ocean of Mercy” give this song a classical, operatic, and otherworldly presence.
“Drunk on Marrow” continues in that vein with escalated tension within the experimental and noise elements. Electronic beats give “Drunk on Marrow” a dissonant, dance-hall atmosphere. Vocals crash like pure noise, while piano droning haunts the listeners from the background.
