News: Sky McKee, Formerly Of Super Whatevr, Releases ‘Anita’

Sky McKee

Solo alternative artist Sky McKee, one creative mind behind Super Whatevr, releases his latest song “anita.” He says he is donating all of his streaming income from the song to mutual aid for the people suffering from the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“The song is about losing friends either by cutting people out for healing’s sake or for people hating me for the decisions I make,” McKee says on Instagram.

The song is born from tragedy. McKee says he wrote the track after a close friend of his died. You can hear the sorrow in lyrics like ‘Anita friend/ I need a few more people in my corner.”

“Lost my friend from over a decade suddenly a couple weeks after we talked,” McKee continues on social media.

The artist also noted in an Instagram comment that Super Whatevr “is unfortunately very much over,” but his solo tracks will sound similar to that act’s work.

‘Anita friend’ is the first release from McKee in more than two years.

McKee joins much of the scene’s music community in supporting Gaza residents. You can learn more about the song and McKee’s future here.
