If you’re not familiar with this band, you need to be. Sordes Dominum are the heaviest, doomiest band on Earth, and they recently dropped a video for their new single, “Verecundiam.” The video must be seen to be believed—it’s epic and certainly one of the best vids released in 2021 so far.
Sordes Dominum’s previous single, “Exillium,” was banned by YouTube. Check out New Noise Magazine’s interview with Sordes Dominum published in July in which they discuss being banned by YouTube and much more here.
Alex Crescioni states:
‘Verecundiam’ is the second single from instrumental symphonic metal band Sordes Dominum. After the release of the debut single, ‘Exillium,’ the video created a bit of controversy and was taken as ‘anti-vax’ propaganda by YouTube. The website permanently terminated the channel and video without warning or an exact reason as to why it violated community guidelines. After being shunned, the band decided to pick up where the story of Exillium left off, and continue the timeline with ‘Verecundiam’ as a sequel.
The video was shot at Dystopian Studios in Los Angeles with Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films directing. The team has a tendency of completing this short, horror-esque type of cinema ahead of schedule and executing the vision with every nuance captured. After working together on the debut of Exillium, ‘Verecundiam’ was a breeze. The single was produced, mixed, and mastered by guitarist Alex Crescioni of Stygian Sound, with additional drum tracking with the assistance of Donny Baker of ES Audio Recording Studios. Be prepared for much more from the band with a full EP, and more nightmare horror videos in the future.”
