News: State Champs Releases Accoustic “Act Like That”

Pop-punk powerhouse State Champs releases an accoustic version of their country-leaning track “Act Like That.” Released through Pure Noise Records, the new version of the song mellows the bouncy track that originally featured county music star Mitchell Tenpenny.

“We had a short press week back in June where we did some in studio acoustic sessions,” explains guitarist Tyler Szalkowski. “We fell in love with the acoustic versions of ‘Act Like That’ and ‘Outta My Head.’ We knew we had to get these recorded and get them out.”

Earlier this year, State Champs dropped their popular, fourth album Kings Of The New Age. It featured an eclectic group of artists, including Four Years Strong, Ben Barlow, Chrissy Costanza and the aforementioned Tenpenny. The band will headline a cross country tour this fall in support of the record.

“Kings of The New Age is our fourth album, the one that we spent the most time on, and the one that makes the biggest statement. After writing over 30 songs, we narrowed it down to 11 that best represent our mission as a band, and sonically, match the energy level we wanted to captivate heading into this new chapter,” State Champs explained.

The band will be joined by Hunny and Between You & Me throughout the tour with Young Culture, Games We Play and Save Face joining them on select days.
