Orlando-area punk band Television Supervision drop their blistering new track “MARROW AND BRAINS,” a refreshing take on what depression looks and feels like. The song is the first in what will likely be a handful of new releases form the talented Floridians.
“I was listening to a lot of Heart Attack Man and watching a lot of hockey,” vocalist Brett Zitzelberg says. “I had been in the mindset of coming up with something relatable about depression, with this grungy weirdness littered all over it.”
The themes are embodied throughout, with Zitzelberg throwing his voice in ways that allow the track to feel like one big chorus. But it’s never stale or lacks structure. “MARROW AND BRAINS” is an adrenaline rush from the opening note.
“When you’re in the weeds, it feels like a poison or a virus you can’t shake, and it can seem exclusive to you,” Zitzelberg continues. “I’ve always felt there are a lot more people experiencing this than people are aware of, and I hadn’t seen a song describe it that way, so we did.”
Television Supervision spent 2022 expanding its fanbase through new music and massive shows at the House of Blues in Orlando, along with the popular Emo Nite. With more new songs on the way, you can follow the band’s huge 2024 here.
