News: The Armed Release New Single

The Armed

Detroit punk band The Armed have shared a new single, “Everything’s Glitter,” off of their upcoming album Perfect Saviors out August 25 via Sargent House. The album is the sixth from the band and the third in a trilogy of releases that draws on pop music to examine pop culture in the age of limitless information.

The album was produced by the band’s vocalist, Tony Wolski along with Ben Chisholm and Troy Van Leeuwen, and includes contributions from Julien Baker, Sarah Tudzin, Matt Sweeney, Mark Guiliana, Patrick Shiroishi, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, and many more.

Of the album, Wolski says, “This track uses Bowie’s famed first U.S. appearance in 1971 for a three-week press tour as a framing device to consider the razor’s edge between icon and clown. It’s funny how any genius must ultimately be willing to look like a complete fool. Perhaps fittingly, it’s also the closest thing we’ve made to an arena rock song.”

Stream “Everything’s Glitter” here, and preorder Perfect Saviors now. Tickets for The Perfect Savior’s tour are also on sale now.
