The Naarm/Melbourne indie act, The Belair Lip Bombs, have announced that they are signing to Third Man Records. They will also be the first Australian artist with Third Man. Along with the announcement, they are going to be re-issuing their debut full-length album, Lush Life (everywhere except Australia and New Zealand).

The Belair Lip Bombs comment on signing to Third Man:
“Signing with Third Man has been a dream for us, particularly as the first Australian band on the label. Everyone at the label is a legend and it’s obvious how much love they put into each of their releases. We couldn’t be more stoked to be joining the Third Man fam!”
The Belair Lip Bombs are comprised of four members; Maisie Everett (guitar, keys, vox), Mike Bradvica (guitars), Liam De Bruin (drums) and Jimmy Droughton (bass). Their debut album arrives in the form of 10 tracks of evocative exploration with stories that run a gamut of longing, seeking new horizons and discovering new paths to satisfaction and self-fullfilment.
Maisie Everett discusses Lush Life:
“The album is titled Lush Life—These words are referenced a few times throughout the album. Themes or motifs explored in the album often involve a longing for something that isn’t there, but maybe not quite knowing exactly what that something is. The term “lush life” sort of describes a picture perfect wordl where everything is easy (but doesn’t actually exist). I wanted it to be perfect, and we tried a lot of different things in the studio in terms of melodies and harmonies. It was a lot of fun. I was playing in another band at the time and constantly on tour which made it hard to finish the album in a linear way. But I’m glad we took our time with it, because it’s turned out exactly how we wanted it.”
