The upcoming Blasting Room documentary explores the humble origins, and celebrates the history, of the now-legendary punk studio run by drummer Bill Stevenson in Fort Collins, CO.
The official Kickstarter campaign launches on October 29, and you get get in on the action here. The Blasting Room story is told with decades of never before seen photos and videos. It also features interviews with members of more than 25 bands including Descendents, ALL, Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Good Riddance, NOFX, Less Than Jake, Hot Water Music and Lagwagon. It’s a veritable who’s who of well known ’90s and 2000s punks. The film is a partnership between Static Age Productions (Floating Horses)and Kreativ Media (Filmage: The Story of Descendents/ALL).
“Just like the studio, the documentary is very DIY,” says producer and cinematographer Kevin Kirchner. “With a crew made up of friends and fans of the studio, the production team is counting on music fans to help bring the story to life and put it on the stage it deserves.”
