Canadian art-punk band The Flatliners released the new video for their song “It’ll Hurt” off of their 2022 release New Ruin. It marks the band’s fourth video for a song of that album.
The video follows the story of Ron Regal, a character who has appeared in the band’s other videos from this album: “Performative Hours,” “Souvenir,” and “Rat King.” This video gives some background on the character’s origin. Frontman Chris Cresswell had this to say about the new video:
“Through the videos for ‘Performative Hours,’ ‘Souvenir,’ and ‘Rat King,’ you’ve witnessed the swift fall from grace in the once illustrious life of Mr. Ron Regal. Now see where it all began for the late-night-titan-turned-secret-identity-sporting bartender in our origin story video for ‘It’ll Hurt.’ Did The Flatliners unknowingly set Ron on his path of self-destruction and his eventual downfall? Only time will tell for sure. But yes. The answer is absolutely yes. It was all our fault. Sorry Ron…”
Additionally, the band will kick off their European Tour tomorrow, with the dates listed on the Fat Wreck website. The tour starts off in Portugal and goes through until July with the last date in Germany. They also have a couple of North American shows in the coming months, as well.
New Ruin is now available on the Fat Wreck Chords webstore, and you can follow The Flatliners on both Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok to keep up with future updates from the band.
