Beloved New Jersey Heartland Rockers The Gaslight Anthem have dropped the second single to their highly anticipated new album History Books. The single, the album’s title track, is a straight-forward, hook-ladened rocker very noteworthy for its exciting guest vocal feature, with the track featuring the boss himself, Bruce Springsteen. The new album will be the band’s follow-up to their 2014 album, Get Hurt. It will also be their first album since their 2015 hiatus and their return to full-time activity.
The band recently opened up for punk icons Misfits for a home state show for both bands. They will also embark on a headlining tour this September as well as play at select music festivals. The band’s current lineup remains the same as before the hiatus, consisting of Brian Fallon, Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine, and Benny Horowitz.
The band previously marked their return to music full-time in April with the release of the album’s first single “Positive Change.” The album was produced by Peter Katis, whose resume in production includes working with bands such as Death Cab For Cutie, Interpol, and The Get Up Kids. The album is set to release on October 27th via Rich Mahogany Records, the band’s own label.
