News: The Hold Steady Commemorate 20th Anniversary with New Book

The Hold Steady

The Hold Steady recently announced that they’ll be commemorating their 20th anniversary as a band with a new book. The book, The Gospel of The Hold Steady: How a Resurrection Really Feels, is by Michael Hann and the band. The title is a reference to their song “How a Resurrection Really Feels,” the closing track off of their 2005 album Separation Sunday. The book includes the band’s official oral history with over 200 photos, essays, anecdotes from fans, and more.

With the limited edition preorder package, fans can get an autographed copy of the book signed by the band themselves in addition to a signed copy of TJK on THS, a photo journal of behind-the-scenes photos from guitarist Tad J. Kubler with an introduction by frontman Craig Finn.

The book comes out on July 25 on Akashic Books, and you can preorder it on the press’ website. Meanwhile, the band’s new album, The Price of Progress, comes out today on Positive Jams/Thirty Tigers. You’ll need to follow The Hold Steady on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to keep up with future details.
