The long-running, Santa Cruz-based, 10-piece northern soul band The Inciters announced their upcoming sixth studio album Bring Back the Weekend which will be out this fall on Pirates Press Records. In addition to the announcement, the band is also releasing a new seven-inch tomorrow called Boot N Soul, which will also be out on Pirates Press Records.
“We wanted to keep it feeling live, not a ‘live album’ but rather our energy,” trumpet player Rick Kendrick explains about the recording process on the new album. “We recorded as much as possible all together. We had the rhythm section in the main room, the horns in a big booth but also a large window so the horns could see the rhythm section. All the horns were recorded at the same time so we could capture the feel and the singers were together in another booth.”
