Psychobilly legends The Meteors are preparing to release the first half of a double album planned for 2021. Skull N Bones will drop on March 26th via Cleopatra Records. The record promises to be a mixture of thrilling instrumentals and original cuts. There’s even of a cover of The Adverts’ 1977 punk classic “Gary Gilmore’s Eyes”.
The Meteors were formed in London in 1980 by guitarist/vocalist P. Paul Fenech. They combined the energy and attitude of punk with rockabilly to create something entirely new. Along with their American counterparts The Cramps, they were key in the invention of psychobilly.
Over the last four decades, The Meteors have released more than 20 studio albums and toured the world over several times. A new double album for 2021 would seem to indicate that the band still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Pre-order Skull N Bones here.
