New Jersey rockers The Ratchets are in the midst of an ambitious digital singles campaign over the next year and a half. They’ve just delivered their latest dispatch in the form of “News on High.” The song is available on all major streaming platforms as well as Bandcamp.

“News on High” is a multi-faceted political pop gem that imagines each news-cylce as a hit single blasting on stereos all across the world. The band have taken lyrical aim at the blending of both entertainment and politics, news and outrage, as well as the media’s never-ending loop of hysteria that’s both divisive and dangerous.
The single is backed by “Truth Dub,” a heavy dub-influenced version of the A-Side re-mixed by Strawberry Zaiquiri. The release of “News on High” is the fourth in the string of digital singles for the punk-rock stalwarts. The previous singles are “Street Manners,” “Swagger with Kindness,” and “Hurricane Condition.” The latest of which quickly took its place amongst the band’s most streamed songs of all time.
