The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die have shared their second track from their fourth studio album, Illusory Walls, set for release digitally October 8 and on vinyl December 3, “Queen Sophie for President.”

Creating Illusory Walls took about a year, recorded in the Connecticut woods and quarantined Philadelphia as the band navigated the pandemic. The extra time allowed the band time to manage vocalist Katie Dvorak sustaining an injury that had her unable to sing for several months, which would have affected the band’s usual recording schedule.

Instead, she was able to channel what happened into their songs, and “Queen Sophie For President,” with themes surrounding the tenacity of oppression, on a personal and political level, also heavily influenced by Dvorak’s injury.

The album as a whole works to dive deeper into the world of the band, and also the individual world of the listener. In support of Illusory Walls, the band are also hitting the road with Bent Knee.
